BPS Wraps Up Food 4 Thought Drive

 

VIERA, FLORIDA –Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School (EJSHS) student government members counted and boxed food items until the boxes filled the room.  Under the leadership of Student Government Association sponsor, Mrs. Laura Mae Robbins, EJSHS led a strong campaign to support Brevard Public Schools’ (BPS) Food 4 Thought Drive that concluded Friday, Sept. 30 for all traditional schools. (BPS’ year-round schools  will hold their food drive from Oct. 11 through Oct. 21.)  EJSHS  gathered more than 10,000 canned food items in their local effort of replenishing food banks in Brevard. 

In all, 86 schools and numerous district offices participated in the Food 4 Thought drive that will help stock county food banks until the holiday season.  The food drive is coordinated by BPS District Communications and is conducted in collaboration with over 41 food pantries throughout Brevard County.
