BPS Hosts Free Parenting Workshop 

VIERA – BPS will host the 6^th annual “Parenting in Today’s World” workshop on Oct. 1, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the School Board offices in Viera.  Parents and community members are invited to learn some new parenting strategies to strengthen their family. 

Dr. Tony Ferretti will be the keynote speaker who will focus on “Creating a Resilient Family.”  Dr. Ferretti will answer the question often asked…Why do some people fall apart during times of adversity and others bounce back? He will help workshop participants recognize the tools to be a resilient family.

Following the keynote address, there will be two break-out sessions.  The breakout session titles include:

• What your teen wants you to know…

• Win the war on bullying

• Fathering:  Mission possible

• Staying connected at every age

• Supporting your child’s academic success

• Know our child’s developmental stage and what to expect…

• Learn ways to teach and model a balanced life
