Sabal Elementary Receives $25,000 from Discover^® Card

 

Melbourne, FL – Discover^® Card donated $25,000 to Sabal Elem. School as part of this year’s Everyday Giveaway Sweepstakes promotion. Sabal was chosen by Cocoa resident, Sharlon Koodie, an April winner of the sweepstakes, who has family members that attend the school.

Sabal principal, Stephanie Hall, said, “I feel that our community has been blessed by this gift from both Discover^® Card and Mr. Koodie. We are so grateful for this money, which will be used for completing a new playground that we otherwise could not have been able to afford.  I feel this is a ‘pay it forward’ moment for our Sabal community.”  She continued by saying, “Thank you Sharlon Koodie for choosing Sabal Elementary and thank you Discover^® Card for giving back to communities across the nation and touching the lives of so many because you can.” 

Throughout the year, every purchase made on a Discover^® Card is automatically entered for a chance to win one of 150 daily prizes and a monthly prize of $25,000, which Discover^® Card will match with a  $25,000 donation to a public school of the winner’s choosing.

Koodie and Hall accepted the donation from Discover^® Card at the Aug. 9 School Board meeting.
